Saudi civil aviation authorities said a missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on 10 October 2026 killed 12 people and injured more than 300, according to reporting by The Guardian. Authorities released the toll early on 11 October, with some of the injured in critical condition.
The Saudi-led coalition blamed Yemen’s Houthi movement. Al Jazeera separately reported the coalition’s attribution. The Guardian said there was no immediate response from the Houthis to the latest strike.
A regional official, speaking anonymously to The Guardian, said the missile hit the complex containing domestic terminals 3 and 4. Saudi authorities said the victims included Saudi citizens and foreign nationals, and that injured people were being treated in several hospitals.
Saudi Arabia’s education ministry said Riyadh schools would switch to remote learning for a week following the attack, The Guardian reported.
The strike follows earlier attacks on the airport during the same week and comes amid renewed fighting in Yemen. The latest casualty figures remain attributed to Saudi authorities; the available reporting does not independently establish responsibility for the attack.
