Ariana Grande sues unidentified hackers over leaked music and footage

Ariana Grande filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Monday, July 27, 2026, accusing unidentified hackers of stealing unreleased music, private images and video footage and selling some of the material online.

The complaint names the defendants as John Does while Grande seeks to identify them through the legal process. It alleges that attackers gained access through accounts belonging to people who worked with the singer and used phishing and impersonation tactics.

According to the filing, 45 songs were leaked in 2023 alone. In one alleged incident, a hacker posed as a photographer and persuaded an employee to send images of Grande. The lawsuit also says behind-the-scenes material from recording sessions and music videos was taken, with some assets allegedly offered on the dark web.

Grande argues that the unauthorized access and distribution invaded her privacy and harmed her career and relationship with fans. The allegations have not yet been tested in court, and the people accused have not been publicly identified.

The civil action seeks to use court procedures to establish who was responsible and hold them accountable. It adds to wider concerns in the music industry about phishing, account compromise and the online trade in unreleased creative work.
