Hulu has commissioned three extended Futurama specials in addition to the animated comedy’s forthcoming 14th season, according to an announcement by the show’s producers and cast at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026.

The specials are expected to begin rolling out next year. One will be a Christmas episode, expanding the franchise beyond its regular season order.

The announcement was made during a Comic-Con panel featuring creator Matt Groening, executive producer and head writer David X. Cohen, and members of the cast and production team. The panel also presented a trailer connected to the series’ upcoming season.

The order extends Futurama’s latest revival on Hulu, continuing a series that has returned on multiple platforms since its original television debut.
