Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker will no longer sign items or pose for photographs outside hotels or at airports, according to Instagram statements reported by The Guardian on 9 September 2026.
Parker, who is touring North America, attributed the decision to increasingly aggressive autograph collectors. He alleged that some had begun using children to obtain signatures and asked fans who encounter him to understand if he declines their requests.
He also said he would temporarily stop meeting fans in parking lots after concerts. Parker explained that crowds at similar gatherings during his European shows had grown beyond what his security team could manage, prompting his team to advise against continuing them.
The changes concern informal encounters around travel and performances. Parker encouraged concertgoers to enjoy the shows and return home safely.
