Laura Dern to Present George Clooney With Venice Lifetime Achievement Honor

Laura Dern will present George Clooney with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival on September 2, according to Variety.

Dern is scheduled to deliver the festival’s laudatio, the formal tribute speech that accompanies the career honor. The presentation will recognize Clooney’s work across film as an actor, director and producer.

Clooney’s career includes Academy Award nominations in six different categories, a distinction achieved by only three people, Variety reported. The breadth of those nominations reflects his work both in front of and behind the camera.

The presentation is part of the Venice festival’s 2026 program. The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement is separate from the festival’s main competition award and is used to recognize a sustained contribution to cinema.
