A federal jury in Los Angeles acquitted rapper Lil Durk in a murder-for-hire case on September 11, 2026, according to The Guardian. The verdict concerned a 2022 shooting that killed Saviay’a Robinson, the cousin of rapper Quando Rondo.
Prosecutors had alleged that Durk Banks, who performs as Lil Durk, arranged an attack on Quando Rondo in retaliation for the 2020 death of his friend and fellow rapper King Von. Banks’s lawyers challenged the prosecution’s account, including the reliability of a cooperating witness. The jury found Banks not guilty in this trial.
The acquittal does not resolve a separate prosecution. The Guardian reported that federal prosecutors said Banks is scheduled to face racketeering murder and firearms charges in a second trial on October 5, 2026. Those charges remain allegations.
