Noni Madueke scored the only goal as Arsenal defeated Nottingham Forest 1–0 at the City Ground on 18 October 2026, according to The Guardian’s match report.

Introduced at half-time, Madueke received a pass from Declan Rice in the 80th minute, moved inside from the left and struck a shot that deflected off Jair Cunha beyond goalkeeper Matz Sels.

The breakthrough came after a match in which Arsenal struggled to turn possession into clear chances. Neither side registered a shot on target before the interval, and Madueke’s winner was Arsenal’s only effort on target across the game.

Mikel Arteta had replaced Eberechi Eze with Madueke at the break before making three further changes in the 66th minute. Forest’s compact defensive shape had kept the visitors at bay for much of the contest.

The home side threatened a late response. Rice blocked an opportunity for substitute Chris Wood, while Ezri Konsa stopped Liam Delap with a late challenge.

For Forest, the result extended their wait for a home goal in the league this season. Arsenal secured an away victory after drawing 0–0 on their previous two visits to the City Ground.
