Mexico’s competition authority has approved Paramount’s proposed merger with Warner Bros., Paramount announced on August 14, 2026.
The company said it has now secured regulatory clearance in jurisdictions representing 68 countries, including the European Union, China, Canada and Brazil, according to Variety.
A lawsuit brought by 12 United States state attorneys general remains the reported barrier to completing the transaction. Mexico’s approval advances the deal but does not itself settle that litigation or complete the merger.
