A stage musical based on “Nanny McPhee,” written by Emma Thompson, is scheduled to make its world premiere in London in summer 2027, Variety reported on August 27, 2026.
Thompson played the title character in the 2005 film and wrote its screenplay as well as the screenplay for its sequel. She has now adapted the story for the stage.
The production will bring the tale of the mysterious nanny and the Brown family to London’s West End, extending the property from books and films into musical theatre.
