The US Coast Guard launched a search off Nantucket, Massachusetts, on October 3, 2026, after an air ambulance carrying six people lost contact during a flight from Bermuda to Boston.

The Federal Aviation Administration told The Guardian that it issued a search-and-rescue alert for the Gulfstream G100 at about 1:20 a.m. local time that day. The aircraft did not reach Boston Logan International Airport as scheduled, according to the airport operator’s statement reported by the newspaper.

Bermuda airport operator Skyport said four crew members and two passengers were aboard the Canadian-registered aircraft. The flight was a medical evacuation operated by Latitude Air Ambulance, The Guardian reported, citing the company’s director of flight operations.

The Coast Guard dispatched aircraft and surface crews. NPR’s October 3 report, carried by Georgia Public Broadcasting, also described a continuing search south of Nantucket.

The reports reviewed did not establish the fate of those aboard or the cause of the loss of contact. Reports about a possible descent do not by themselves confirm a crash, and no casualty figure is established in those accounts.
