Sony plans to restore and reopen Hollywood’s Cinerama Dome

Sony Pictures Entertainment plans to restore and reopen the Cinerama Dome, the landmark Hollywood cinema that has remained closed since 2020.

The company announced that the dome will return alongside a new 14-screen Alamo Drafthouse cinema complex, Variety reported on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Sony expanded into cinema exhibition after buying Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in 2024.
