Trump described both closed-door meetings positively afterward but gave few details. Zelenskyy said his talks included possible licensing arrangements that would allow Ukraine to manufacture interceptors for Patriot air-defence systems, as well as efforts to revive diplomacy.
Netanyahu’s roughly hour-long meeting was expected to address Iran, Lebanon and the possibility of expanding the Abraham Accords, according to a White House official cited by The Guardian. It was his first Oval Office visit since the United States and Israel launched their military campaign against Iran on February 28.
Al Jazeera separately reported that the meeting was Netanyahu’s seventh White House visit during Trump’s current presidency and the first since the Iran campaign began.
The discussions took place without a detailed joint announcement, leaving the practical outcomes unclear. Demonstrators also gathered in Washington to protest Netanyahu’s visit.
