The UK and Ireland box office generated £178.2 million ($239.7 million) in July 2026, 35% more than the equivalent five-week period a year earlier, according to Rentrak data reported by Variety.

Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” led the market with £56.2 million ($75.6 million) during the month. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” also contributed to the strong July performance.

Variety put the comparable 2025 total at $177.1 million. The figures point to a stronger midsummer cinema market, though they cover one five-week period and do not by themselves establish a longer-term trend.
