Julien Alfred won the women’s 200 metres at the Diamond League final in Brussels on 4 September 2026, finishing in 21.79 seconds ahead of American Kyla White and Britain’s Amy Hunt, according to the Guardian’s report from the meeting.
White ran 22.00 seconds, while Hunt placed third in a season’s best of 22.16. Alfred, Saint Lucia’s Olympic 100m champion, pulled clear after the bend to secure the victory.
Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyonyi delivered another leading performance on the opening night, winning the men’s 800m in a meeting record of 1:41.80. Algeria’s Djamel Sedjati finished second, nearly a second behind him.
In the men’s 1500m, Australia’s Cameron Myers found room in the closing straight to win in 3:30.14. Jamaica’s Oblique Seville took the men’s 100m in 9.90 seconds, ahead of Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme.
The results opened a two-day final in the Belgian capital, with competition continuing on 5 September 2026.
