- Arsenal have extended manager Mikel Arteta’s contract to 2030 after winning their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Arsenal have extended Mikel Arteta’s contract to 2030, securing the manager’s future after the club ended a 22-year wait for the Premier League title.
The agreement was reported on 7 October 2026 by The Guardian and Al Jazeera. The Guardian described it as a four-year deal and reported that members of Arteta’s coaching staff had also agreed extensions.
Arteta has led Arsenal since December 2019. The title followed three consecutive second-place finishes in the league, while Arsenal also reached last season’s Champions League final, losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
In comments carried by The Guardian, Arteta expressed pride in continuing at the club and confidence that the team could build on its recent success. Arsenal co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke also backed the continuation of his tenure.
The extension gives Arsenal continuity as they pursue further domestic and European honours. Arteta’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current season, according to The Guardian.
