Australia began the fourth day on 161 for four in its second innings and was dismissed for 284, leaving Bangladesh a target of 57. The visitors reached it for the loss of one wicket to complete a result in which they had led from the opening day.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz took five wickets for 66 runs in Australia’s second innings. Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud had earlier claimed six for 55 as the hosts were dismissed for 198 in their first innings. Bangladesh then built a first-innings total of 426, led by Tanzid Hasan’s 101.

Cameron Green scored 104 in Australia’s second innings, but the century could not prevent defeat. The result was Bangladesh’s second Test win over Australia and came after the visitors had been bowled out for 54 in a warm-up match before the series.
