Benfica sign Colombia striker Jhon Durán on season-long loan from Al-Nassr

Benfica have signed Colombia forward Jhon Durán from Al-Nassr on loan through the 2026-27 season, with a €30 million purchase option.

Benfica have signed Colombia striker Jhon Durán from Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr on loan through the end of the 2026-27 season.

The Portuguese club announced the move on Monday, 20 July 2026. Benfica said the agreement will cost €6.1 million and includes an option to buy the 22-year-old for €30 million after the loan.

Durán’s latest move continues a rapidly changing period in his career. The former Aston Villa forward joined Al-Nassr in January 2025 and has since had loan spells with Fenerbahçe and Zenit St Petersburg. Benfica become the seventh senior club of his career, across seven countries.

The Colombia international began his professional career with Envigado before moving to Chicago Fire and then Aston Villa. He scored eight goals in 13 appearances for Al-Nassr and three in nine for Zenit, according to BBC Sport.

The transfer gives Benfica another centre-forward option as the club prepares for the new domestic and European campaign. Benfica’s announcement confirms both the duration of the loan and the financial terms, making this a completed transfer rather than a reported negotiation.
