The Visma-Lease a Bike rider accelerated from behind Cort to win at the end of the 185-kilometre route from Dos Hermanas. His success followed a victory at La Rábida on September 8, giving him consecutive stage wins in his debut Grand Tour.
An early breakaway by Sinuhe Fernandez and Enzo Paleni delayed the expected sprint finish. Paleni continued alone after dropping Fernandez, but the peloton caught him with three kilometres remaining.
