Brighton have rejected a £50 million bid from Liverpool for winger Yankuba Minteh, according to The Guardian, as Liverpool continue their search for wide attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old Gambia international is among Liverpool’s alternatives as the club also pursues Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola. Brighton’s decision leaves Liverpool to decide whether to improve their offer for a player who has operated mainly on the right flank.

Minteh joined Brighton from Newcastle United for £30 million in 2024. He has scored nine goals in 66 Premier League appearances for the south-coast club. The Guardian reported that he would be open to a move to Liverpool.

Any deal would also have to account for Minteh’s fitness. He is recovering from surgery after suffering a leg injury in a preseason friendly against Roma in August 2026 and could remain unavailable for several more weeks.

Liverpool have already added Victor Muñoz to their attacking options this summer but are still seeking to fill the right-sided position left vacant by Mohamed Salah’s departure. Brighton, meanwhile, have resisted the opening approach while managing injuries and other changes in their forward line.
