UEFA and Concacaf have begun discussions about a combined Nations League involving all 96 member countries across Europe, North and Central America and the Caribbean, The Guardian reported on August 21, 2026.

The proposed tournament would be staged every two years and could launch as early as 2028, after the next European Championship. The discussions remain at an exploratory stage, and no final competition format or launch date has been announced.

A joint event would significantly reshape the international football calendar by connecting the two confederations in a recurring national-team competition.
