Chelsea complete signing of England forward Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa
Chelsea confirmed on July 21, 2026 that England forward Morgan Rogers has joined from Aston Villa on a contract running until 2033.

Chelsea completed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, adding the 23-year-old forward to Xabi Alonso’s squad ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The London club said Rogers has signed a contract through 2033. Chelsea did not disclose the transfer fee in its announcement. Sky Sports has reported the deal at £117 million, a figure that would make Rogers the club’s record signing and the most expensive British player, but that valuation remains a reported fee rather than one confirmed by either club.
The completion is a meaningful step beyond the agreement reported earlier in the transfer process. Rogers had returned from England’s 2026 World Cup campaign before undergoing the formalities of the move.
Rogers joined Villa from Middlesbrough in January 2024 and developed into a senior England international during his time in Birmingham. Chelsea’s official announcement said he contributed 40 combined goals and assists in 85 Premier League appearances for Villa and was part of the side that won the UEFA Europa League last season.
He enters a Chelsea attack that also includes Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Estevao. How Alonso deploys Rogers will be an early pre-season question, with the forward capable of operating centrally or from the left.
