The board of DCC Energy has recommended a £5.75 billion takeover offer from US private-equity groups KKR and Energy Capital Partners, setting up the potential sale of one of the largest energy businesses listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The agreement was reported on July 27, 2026, despite misgivings from DCC’s founder and some of its largest shareholders. Shareholder approval and any required regulatory clearances remain relevant before the transaction can be completed.

If completed, the deal would add to a wider run of companies leaving the UK public market through acquisitions. It would also transfer a major listed energy-services business into private ownership.
