Demi Vollering wins second Tour de France Femmes title

Demi Vollering won the Tour de France Femmes for a second time on Sunday, August 9, 2026, completing the race 1 minute 18 seconds ahead of defending 2024 champion Kasia Niewiadoma.

The Dutch rider broke clear about 600 metres from the top of the final ascent of the Col d’Èze overlooking Nice. Her move secured both the stage victory and the overall title after Niewiadoma’s earlier attack failed to dislodge her.

Niewiadoma finished second overall, extending her run to five podium finishes in five editions. Elisa Longo Borghini placed third. Marlen Reusser, who began the day third in the general classification, crashed while descending the Col d’Èze and slipped to 14th overall after continuing to the finish.

The result followed a dispute over racing tactics during Saturday’s stage, when Niewiadoma accused Vollering’s teammate Célia Gery of blocking her on a key climb. Vollering and her team rejected suggestions that the incident determined the race, and Sunday’s final-stage attack provided a clear sporting margin.

Vollering’s victory added a second Tour de France Femmes title to her record and reversed the disappointment of 2024, when Niewiadoma won the overall race by four seconds.
