Ethiopia’s annual inflation rate rose to 15.3% in July 2026, accelerating from 13.9% in June, according to the latest bulletin from the Ethiopian Statistical Service.

The July reading was also higher than the 13.7% annual rate recorded a year earlier. The statistical service reported renewed increases across both food and non-food prices, with sugar and coffee among the products contributing to the pressure.

The figures indicate that household costs regained momentum after the previous month. Future statistical releases will show whether July’s acceleration persists or begins to ease.
