Ethiopia will hold its seventh National Cybersecurity Month from October 11 to November 9, 2026, with a campaign aimed at helping citizens and institutions use digital technologies more safely.

The Information Network Security Administration announced the dates at a press briefing, according to an October 9 report by the Ethiopian News Agency, also carried in AddisMizan’s AllAfrica source queue.

Online child protection will be a central focus. The planned programme includes activities for families and young people, youth competitions, and discussions about artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

INSA Director-General Tigist Hamid called for broader awareness of digital threats and urged public and private organizations to arrange cybersecurity education for their employees, ENA reported.

The campaign gives institutions a defined period to organize awareness activities as internet use expands. It is an upcoming public education programme; the announcement does not provide evidence of a specific new breach or quantify recent cyberattacks.
