Great Britain secured a place in the Davis Cup Final 8 on 20 September 2026, completing a 4–0 victory over Ecuador at London’s Copper Box Arena.
Henry Patten and Neal Skupski settled the qualifier by beating Gonzalo Escobar and Diego Hidalgo 6–3, 6–4 in doubles. That result gave Britain an unbeatable 3–0 lead after Arthur Fery and Toby Samuel had won their singles matches on 19 September.
Harry Wendelken then defeated Angel Veliz 6–2, 6–3 in the remaining singles match to complete the sweep. The results were reported by The Guardian and confirmed by the Lawn Tennis Association.
Britain will return to the Final 8 for the first time since 2023. The knockout tournament is scheduled for 24–29 November 2026 in Bologna, Italy.
Qualification gives captain Leon Smith time to assess his options before the final stage, after his team advanced despite the absence of Jack Draper and the injury withdrawal of Cameron Norrie.
