Manchester City have reached an agreement with Lille to sign Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi in a deal worth up to €100 million, according to reports from Sky Sports and the Guardian on August 23, 2026.

The package is reported to comprise a €95 million guaranteed fee and as much as €5 million in add-ons. The transfer has not yet been formally completed: Bouaddi is expected to undergo a medical before the move is announced.

Lille left the 18-year-old out of their Ligue 1 match against Angers on Sunday as the deal advanced. Bouaddi primarily plays as a defensive midfielder and has already represented Morocco at senior international level.

His expected arrival would add another young central-midfield option to Manchester City’s squad. The Guardian reported that the move would take the club’s summer spending to nearly £200 million.

The agreement represents a major fee for a player still at the beginning of his senior career, but its final value will depend on whether the reported performance-related add-ons are triggered.
