Manchester City have completed the signing of Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, with the 18-year-old agreeing a five-year contract.
The Guardian reported an initial fee of €95 million, equivalent to about £81.4 million, plus a possible €5 million in add-ons. Sky Sports described the transfer as an £86 million deal. The move makes Bouaddi the most expensive teenager signed by an English club, according to The Guardian.
Bouaddi became Lille’s youngest player when he debuted against KÍ Klaksvík on 5 October 2023, three days after turning 16. He went on to make 96 appearances for the French club before moving to Manchester.
The midfielder said Manchester City offered the best environment for his continued development. His arrival is part of a wider midfield rebuild at the Premier League club.
