Anderson joins after playing a central role in England’s third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup and appearing in every Premier League match for Forest last season. His fee briefly stood as a record for a British player before Chelsea’s £117 million move for Morgan Rogers on Tuesday, July 21.
The midfielder said City’s record of sustained success was a major reason for the move. He is expected to take a three-week break following the World Cup and identified the Manchester derby on September 13 as an early fixture he hopes to contest.
Anderson began his senior career at Newcastle United and spent part of 2022 on loan at Bristol Rovers. Forest signed him for £35 million in July 2024. Last season he led the Premier League for touches, duels won and times winning possession, according to figures cited in the source report.
