Switzerland’s Marlen Reusser won the elite women’s individual time trial at the road cycling world championships in Montreal on 20 September 2026, securing a second consecutive title on her 35th birthday.
Britain’s Zoe Bäckstedt took silver and Germany’s Franziska Koch bronze. Reusser finished about 40 seconds ahead of Bäckstedt, according to the result reported by ANSA. Cycling Weekly also confirmed the podium and described Reusser’s victory over the 39.2-kilometre course.
The result extends Reusser’s hold on the title she first won in Kigali in 2025. For Bäckstedt, the runner-up finish came on her senior world championship debut in the discipline, according to Cycling Weekly.
The time trial opened a championship programme running from 20 to 27 September. Organisers list the elite women’s road race for 26 September and the elite men’s road race for 27 September.
