Ethiopian coffee exporters and Canadian buyers have met in Toronto to explore direct trading relationships at the Global Coffee Expo Canada 2026, according to Fana Broadcasting Corporate and the Ethiopian News Agency.
The event’s registration page lists September 28–29, 2026, at the Toronto Botanical Garden. ENA reported that Ethiopia’s embassy in Canada organized the gathering, bringing exporters together with importers, industry representatives and diplomats.
Ethiopian Ambassador to Canada Tewodros Girma told participants that direct coffee trade remained limited relative to the Canadian market’s potential. He called for closer connections between suppliers in Ethiopia and buyers in Canada, according to ENA’s account of an embassy release.
Anna Mancini, representing the Coffee Association of Canada, expressed the association’s willingness to collaborate with Ethiopian exporters, ENA reported.
