Tottenham Hotspur have signed Brazilian winger Sávio from Manchester City for an initial £75 million, completing one of the Premier League summer window’s largest transfers.
The agreement could rise to £85 million with add-ons. The 22-year-old, previously widely known as Savinho, has indicated that he will use Sávio on his shirt at Tottenham.
Sávio said his conversation with Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi convinced him to make the move. De Zerbi described the winger as a player who can add energy, imagination and creativity in wide areas.
The Brazil international spent two seasons with Manchester City after joining from Troyes in 2024. He recorded three goals and 13 assists in all competitions in his first season at City, followed by four goals and three assists in the next campaign.
Tottenham’s move adds a left-footed option who prefers to attack from the right flank. The signing follows the club’s 3-0 defeat at Brentford on the opening weekend of the Premier League season and takes its reported summer spending above £300 million.
The transfer was reported on August 25, 2026, by both Al Jazeera and The Guardian.
