The result extended the International Team’s wait for its first victory since 1998. It also brought another final-day reversal to Medinah, the suburban Chicago venue where Europe rallied to win the 2012 Ryder Cup.
US captain Brandt Snedeker praised his players’ belief after the turnaround. The final result closes a competition in which the Americans had led the opening session before falling behind ahead of the singles.
