Wigan Warriors defeated Hull KR 46–0 on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in an emotional Super League match held days after the death of club legend Sir Billy Boston at the age of 92.
Liam Marshall scored three tries, while Zach Eckersley crossed twice. Jai Field, Adam Keighran and Jake Wardle also scored as Wigan extended their winning run to 13 league matches, a club record in the modern era, and moved back to the top of the standings.
Wigan led 28–0 at half-time after dominating in heavy rain. Hull KR, the defending champions, fielded a weakened side at the end of a sequence of four matches in 14 days and were held scoreless for the first time under coach Willie Peters.
The club marked Boston’s life with flowers and a pre-match ceremony, and left the customary seats used by Boston and his late wife, Lady Joan, empty. Wigan coach Matt Peet said the occasion was about more than the two competition points, while praising both the tribute and his team’s performance.
