Addis Ababa Police has announced vehicle restrictions on designated central roads ahead of the Irreecha Hora Finfinne celebration on 3 October 2026, according to Fana Media Corporation.

Fana’s 2 October report says the closures take effect at 10:00 a.m. on 2 October and continue until the festival programme ends. Parking on the specified roads will be prohibited from 6:00 a.m. on 3 October, including brief stops.

Affected approaches include the Megenagna–Meskel Square route at 22/Golagul Square, the Bole Rwanda Bridge–Meskel Square route at Wello Sefer Square, and the Atlas–St. Urael route at Peacock traffic lights.

Restrictions also cover several approaches to Mexico Square and Immigration traffic lights, alongside routes toward Legehar, the National Theatre, Filwoha and Kazanchis. These are selected locations; Fana’s report carries the full list of closure points.

Police urged motorists to plan ahead and use alternative routes. The notice links the measures to managing access during the festival and gives no fixed reopening hour beyond the end of the programme.
