- Indian streaming service JioHotstar expanded into the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore, offering a large multilingual entertainment catalogue but excluding sports from the international service.

Indian streaming service JioHotstar launched in the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore on September 1, 2026, marking a significant international expansion for the platform beyond its home market.
The overseas service offers entertainment programming rather than the sports content that is central to JioHotstar’s Indian operation. Reports from two configured technology and entertainment sources said the international catalogue includes more than 160,000 hours of programming across more than 12 Asian languages.
The launch also introduces new subscription options, personalised recommendations and interactive features for viewers in the three markets. The expansion is aimed at audiences seeking Indian and wider Asian-language film and television content.
JioHotstar was formed through the combination of major Indian streaming businesses linked to Reliance and Disney. Its international rollout gives the service access to large South Asian diaspora markets, while the absence of sports means the overseas product differs materially from the version available in India.
The three-country launch is a completed commercial development, not an announced future plan, according to both source records.
