Xbox Is Asking Customers to Volunteer to Test Ad-Supported Game Streaming

Xbox began testing an advertising-supported cloud gaming option with members of its Xbox Insider feedback community on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

The trial is voluntary and is available to Xbox Insiders who have an Xbox account. Participants can use the free, ad-supported experience to stream a selection of games they already own.

The limited test gives Xbox a way to assess customer response to an advertising-funded access model before deciding whether to make it more widely available.
